This Bunnahabhain from 2009 is a dream for lovers of intensive sherry cask maturation. It matured for a full 12 years in a lush ex-sherry cask until it was bottled in our specially created and designed series as a joint bottling together with Sansibar whiskey in 2021 cask strength was bottled. The drawings on the label are by Ronnie Cruwys.
 
Nose: Dark sherry, fermented fruits, tobacco, coffee, caramel, sweet dried plums and plums,  honey , some liquorice and a touch of oak. After a while in the glass there are still clear aromas of vanilla - slightly burnt or perhaps caramelized vanilla sugar.

Palate: Full load of sweet sherry. Extremely sticky and sweet. The sweet and at the same time slightly spicy forest honey comes up strongly. In addition, caramel, leather and sweet pipe smoke.
 
Finish: Medium length and interesting with sweet and spicy sherry in play. Forest honey and caramelized vanilla sugar. The dark dried fruits are of course still very present. Towards the end, more spicy aromas and a little oak, borrowed mint warms the tongue.
